The Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi men’s volleyball team became the 2024 Proliga champion after silencing the defending champion Jakarta LavAni 3-1 (28-30, 25-22, 25-22, and 25-23) in the final match which took place at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Sunday (22/7) evening WIB/
Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi started the first set very calmly, taking advantage of several service errors from Jakarta LavAni. Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi won 6-4. Both teams played chasing each other for points until Jakarta LavAni was able to win by one point 15-14.
Renan Buiatti’s action brought Jakarta LavAni to widen the lead to 18-15. Both teams chased each other for points until the score was tied at 24-24.
Jakarta LavAni was unable to block the spikes launched by Noumory Keita, while Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi failed when faced with a hit from Renan Buiatti. Jakarta LavAni closed the first set with a 30-28 victory.
In the second set, both teams played openly and exchanged attacks with each other until the points were chased. Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi was able to lead by three points 12-8.
Jakarta LavAni continued to press through Renan Buiatti and was able to equalize the score 19-19. However, the calm play of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi made the second set theirs after winning 25-22.

Playing in the third set, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi continued to pressure Jakarta LavAni. By taking advantage of Jakarta LavAni’s service error, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi was able to lead by five points, 10-5.
Noumory Keita seemed unstoppable by Jakarta middle blocker LavAni and maintained his victory in the third set with 25-22.
In a condition where they were two sets behind, Jakarta LavAni immediately stepped on the gas through the actions shown by Farhan Halim and Renan Buiatti by winning five points in a row to lead 8-6.

Jakarta LavAni was able to maintain a five-point lead in the middle of the set with a score of 15-10. However, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi again took advantage of the serve error shown by Jakarta LavAni players and recorded four consecutive points to turn things around 20-19.
The chase for points continued towards the end of the match, but Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi was able to lock the fourth set with a 25-23 victory.
With this victory, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi successfully avenged their revenge in the previous two final matches, after losing twice in a row to Jakarta LavAni.
With the name Surabaya Bhayangkara Samator, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi won the Proliga title twice. The addition of the Proliga title this season, makes Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi secure three titles throughout history.
Meanwhile, this is Jakarta LavAni’s first defeat in the final round, after recording two wins from three final rounds in three consecutive seasons. This defeat also dashed the hopes of the team coached by Nicholas Vives to make history as the first team to win three times in a row. (Ant/P-5)
