The National Awakening Party (PKB) assessed that Jakarta and West Java (Jabar) lack figures with high electability. The two regions only have the figures of former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party who is also a former West Java governor Ridwan Kamil (RK).
“In West Java, there are not many figures who have high electability until now. It’s the same as DKI, similar, there are only one or two names in West Java, namely Mr. Ridwan Kamil. In DKI, there is Mr. Anies,” said Deputy Chairman of PKB Jazilul Fawaid at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (2/7) evening.
Jazilul said this in response to the opportunity for United Development Party (PPP) politician Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to be nominated in the West Java Gubernatorial Election (Pilgub). The Deputy Chairman of the MPR assessed that if Ridwan advances in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, there will be a vacuum in West Java.
“If Mr. RK is brought to DKI, it means there is a vacancy in West Java,” he said.
On the other hand, Jazilul admitted that there was a proposal from cadres for the PKB Central Leadership Council (DPP) to nominate Sandiaga in the West Java gubernatorial election. This was captured as an aspiration.
He stressed the need to consider Sandiaga’s potential opponents in the West Java gubernatorial election. If facing Ridwan, Sandiaga is recognized as having difficulty fighting.
“Against who? With who? If Mr. Ridwan Kamil goes to DKI, that means someone else. If Mr. RK is there, it will be difficult for Mr. Sandiaga to catch up,” he explained.
