Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco were once once more the center of attention for Monegasques on this national holiday. For the past few years, the twins of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene have taken part in National Day ceremonies and the young heir to the throne wears a uniform. This year, the hereditary prince Jacques did not wear the rifleman’s uniform but the police uniform.

Hereditary Prince Jacques pays tribute to Public Security in a police officer’s uniform
Princess Charlene made her grand return to the Monegasque National Day festivities on November 19, following a year turned upside down by the health crisis and another year excused for health reasons. Princess Charlene wore an elegant, sober black and white ensemble on this festive day. Despite her elegance, the princess was not the only one to attract the attention of Monegasques. Her twins also made a strong impression.

Jacques of Monaco swaps his rifleman’s uniform for that of a policeman
Hereditary Prince Jacques, soon to be 8 years old, has twice worn the ceremonial uniform of the carabinieri during the previous national holiday ceremonies. This year, the young Marquis des Baux innovates once once more, by wearing a black police uniform for the first time. Gone is the feathered helmet of the riflemen, this year the young heir to the throne wore a navy blue police kepi.
Hereditary Prince Jacques wore a police officer’s uniform because an honor is paid this year to the Public Security, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of its creation by Albert 1st in 1902. Princess Gabriella wore a red coat, one of the two colors of Monaco and of the order of Saint-Charles.
The Monegasque government explains that public security is “responsible for ensuring the maintenance of public order and ensuring the safety of persons and property. It exercises, as such, the surveillance of the territory.. She corresponds to the police forces and has Charlotte Casiraghi as her godmother. The motto of the Public Security is “Loyalty, Vigilance, Courage”. The carabinieri belong to the military unit of the Monegasque public force and are mainly in charge of the security of the princely family and residences.
