Jacob & Co. markets a watch at a record price.

As extravagant as it is extraordinary, Jacob & Co.’s latest creation left the Geneva public in awe. Presented on the occasion of watchmaking week, the “Billionaire Timeless Treasure” watch is a real collector’s item.

Yellow diamonds 10,000 times rarer than white diamonds.

On the wrists of the greatest celebrities, Jacob & Co. timepieces all boast a bold and disruptive style. The latest creation from the watchmaker is the perfect example. Baptized, “Billionaire Timeless Treasure”this is the second piece of this extraordinary collection.

According to Benjamin Arabov, CEO of Jacob & Co., who came in person to present the watch during Geneva Watch Week, the production of the Billionaire Timeless Treasure II required no less than four years of work. In question ? The extreme rarity of the diamonds that make up every centimeter of the jewel. THE yellow diamonds are almost 10,000 times rarer than white diamonds.

“We have traveled the world for three and a half years in search of an unprecedented number of perfect gemstones, we have collected them here, in our headquarters in Geneva, where each of them has been examined in the state brut, during cutting, before and following setting (…). We have combined our expertise in fine jewelry with our skills in fine watchmaking and used our dynamism to achieve what has never been done before”, explained Benjamin Arabov to our colleagues from BFMTV.

Finally, the Jacob & Co. creation recognizes 425 pierres Fancy Yellow et Fancy Intense Yellow Asscher cutter. 76 green tsavorites were also used to raise the dial. In total, the watch achieves the 216.89 carats.

It remains to be seen whether the Billionaire Timeless Treasure will find a buyer. Proposed at 20 million dollars, it targets an extremely small clientele. By way of comparison, in 2014 the jewelry house Graff Diamonds put its Hallucination watch on sale for $55 million. In the end, the jewel might not be sold, the stones had been cleared and returned to the diamond dealers.
