Next season, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play two games in London for the first time. This number might even increase in the coming years. The reason? Because the Jaguars are renovating their stadium, the franchise’s home games will likely have to be played elsewhere in at least two seasons.
That’s what Lenny Curry, the city’s mayor, said during an appearance on radio station 1010XL. According to Florida Times-Union reporter David Bauerlein, this was the first time it had been said publicly that the Jaguars would be “displaced” by the stadium renovation.
At the moment it is still completely unclear where the team would play its home games. Curry said, “The goal would be to play somewhere in Jacksonville. I know they are considering certain local locations that might host them for at least two years.”
Jacksonville Jaguars: More games in London?
However, because the two years are a “best-case scenario”, other locations should also be considered. Accordingly, a “temporary” move to Orlando is an option. Also conceivable: The Jaguars play more games in London.
The current schedule is for the renovation work to be completed in 2025 and 2026.
