Jackson will meet this Wednesday with Rincón and Walker to receive proposals from the Rejection

The Minister Secretary General of the Presidency (Segpres) was involved in a difficult situation, Giorgio Jackson, following the Comptroller General of the Republic reported last Friday that “did not adjust to the necessary disregard”in the middle of the agreement between official parties to reform the constitutional proposal in case of winning the Approval.

In this regard, from the National Congress, the head of the Segpres, explained that the controlling entity has the duty to “supervise when certain facts are presented to it, and in this case, a specific declaration of August 2, we have the duty to clarify that in so many other public statements, I have invited people wherever they come from, from any political sector, to be able to have proposals to give certainty to the population on September 5”.

Addressing in this way, one of the aspects that were questioned in the report of the supervisory entity on the fact that there is no “antecedent” that adopt similar measures to receive proposed modifications for the Rejection option.

“It is noted that prior to the plebiscite, certain parties that identify with one of the plebiscite options -I approve- were presented with the possibility of formulating proposals to modify the proposed new Constitution if it is approved” , point to that point.

However, they add that “and without evidence of the background information seen or what was reported by that State Portfolio, that this authority has adopted similar measures in relation to the Rejection option”.

In that sense, Jackson defended that this Wednesday he will meet with the DC senators, Ximena Rincon and Matias Walker to receive their proposals, one of the first issued from the Rejection sector.

Ensuring that they will be open to accept proposals of “those who are grouped by the Rejection, what should be done in the event that this alternative comes out, Tomorrow we are going to receive Senator Rincón, Senator Walker and Senator Flores, We do not know if there is going to be a unified position in all the parties that are for the Rejection, but we are going to receive all the proposals”, he remarked.

“We will have to listen, attend and receive all the proposals that come from the Rejection sector to know what their proposals are, those that ideally would be unitary so that they have more political viabilityJackson finished.

Regarding the appointment, Senator Walker, explained to La Tercera, who advocate the project that lowers the quorum to 4/7 to continue with the constituent process in case of winning the Rejection.

“We want to talk with Minister Jackson regarding our proposal, I hope the government makes it theirsbecause what we are proposing is that the President of the Republic, on the night of September 4, lead an agreement so that the constituent process continues and we are giving the formula, so that this is feasible”, clarified the Falangist senator.

Finally, regarding the Comptroller’s report on his role in Segpres during the official agreement, Jackson expressed being “absolutely calm that he had acted in the interest that all parties, regardless of their position before the plebiscite, will find a space in the Segpres to be able to present their proposals”.
