Jackson announces heavy for the coming months

The first guitar revealed in Jackson’s big announcement today is the Rob Cavestany Death Angel. This new model allows guitarists to afford this guitar at a more reasonable price. The original guitar is in principle custom made in the brand’s Custom Shop. This new version will be available in Satin Black finish. It has an EMG-81 pickup in the bridge position and an EMG HA in the neck position. The rosewood fingerboard has a compensated radius between 12 and 16 inches and accommodates 24 Jumbo frets. Luminlay markers are on the side of the key. The hardware brings together a Floyd Rose Special tremolo and in-house locking tuners. Made in Indonesia, the Rob Cavestany Death Angel will be available in December for $1,199.

Jackson’s announcement also mentions the new Pro Series Signature Josh Smith Soloist SL7 ET covered in a rather distinctive Aquamarine colorway. We immediately notice the 7-string EverTune bridge and the Bare Knuckle Impulse pickups. This kit consists of a humbucker in the bridge position and a single humbucker in the neck position. They are controlled by one volume each and a three-position selector. The guitar has an alder body and a roasted maple neck through. It is equipped with a graphite rod to reinforce it. The fingerboard is made of ebony and has a compensated radius between 12 and 16 inches. It accommodates 24 frets. Made in South Korea, the Pro Series Signature Josh Smith Soloist SL7 ET will be available in December for $2,699.

The Californian brand ends in style with the announcement of the new MJ Series Rhoads RRT covered with a Snow White finish. The body of the guitar is basswood and the neck-thru is three-piece maple with graphite reinforcement rod. The ebony fingerboard is once more equipped with a compensated radius between 12 and 16 inches and it is set with 22 Jumbo frets. The Luminlay benchmarks are once once more present. Seymour Duncan outfitted this new MJ Rhoads RRT; there is a JBTM SH-4 in the bridge position and a Jazz SH-2N in the neck position. They are controlled by a master volume, a master tone and a three position selector. The hardware includes a Graph Tech RUSQ XL nut, a Jackson-type Tune-o-Matic bridge and a “V”-shaped tailpiece with through-strings. Locking Gotoh MG-T tuners complete the fittings. Available in November, this Japanese-made MJ Series Rhoads RRT will retail for $2,699.
