Last summer, the JAC T8 Pro pickup truck entered the Russian market, that is, a deeply modernized version of the 2015 JAC T6 model. The “six” itself in Russia came under the Sollers brand, and these pickups are now assembled in Vladivostok. However, the imported JAC T8 Pro is offered only with a 2.4 petrol turbo engine (204 hp, 320 Nm), and therefore turned out to be noticeably more expensive than its predecessor. Now the T8 model has a simpler version – without the Pro prefix.

Externally, JAC T8 and T8 Pro are practically indistinguishable. The regular V8 is the same mid-size pickup truck with a length of 5325 mm, and the dimensions of its cargo platform are similar not only to the V8, but also to the old T6: length – 1520 mm, width – 1520 mm, depth – 470 mm. The suspension design is also identical: a spring double wishbone at the front and a continuous axle on springs at the rear. There are no differences in ground clearance (220 mm), as well as in load capacity (900 kg).

The main difference between the JAC T8 and the Pro version is a simpler interior, inherited with minimal changes from the previous T6 model. In it you will not find a vertical media system tablet or digital instrumentation, but the target audience should like the overall analog ambiance of the interior. In our market, the JAC T8 is offered in the only Full Extra package, which includes two airbags, ESP, xenon headlights, leatherette trim, all-round cameras, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, a media system with a touch screen (9 inches) and support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry and push-button start.

And JAC T8 and JAC T8 Pro have different motors. The basic “eight” inherited the engines from the T6 model – a two-liter gasoline turbo engine (190 hp, 290 Nm) and a turbodiesel of the same volume (139 hp, 320 Nm). The transmission has no alternative: six-speed manual transmission, rigidly connected all-wheel drive and reduction gear. JAC pickups on the Russian market still do not have an automatic transmission.

Petrol JAC T8 costs in Russia 2 million 999 thousand rubles (excluding special offers), and diesel – 3 million 199 thousand rubles. This is 500-600 thousand more than they are asking for Sollers ST6 pickups with similar technology and equipment, but a different appearance.
