Iwasa wins his first Formula 2 victory in the French Grand Prix

Japanese Ayumu Iwasa managed to dominate the French Grand Prix, the ninth round of Formula 2 for the 2022 season, to achieve his first victory since entering the championship.

The dams driver was very close to achieving his first win at Silverstone, but lost it in the last moments, so the young driver seized the opportunity today by performing a perfect overtaking movement on the first lap and then began to expand the lead over his rivals before reaching the finish line with an advantage of 8.6 seconds .

ART driver Theo Borcher was on time and managed to make up for the disappointment of Saturday’s race and his loss to the podium due to the penalty, to finish the race in second place following starting from fifth.

Also, the ART team finished third on the podium with driver Frederic Veste, achieving his third podium in his first season in the championship.

MB Motorsport’s Filippi Drogović finished fourth, ahead of Jack Doohan, who made a mistake that cost him a podium finish.

Sprint race winner Liam Lawson finished sixth, keeping his chances in the title fight, and ahead of Carlin’s Jehan Daruvala.

MB Motorsport driver Clement Novalac scored the last four points by finishing eighth, while Rui Nisani and Enzo Fittipaldi completed the top ten.
