How did you become part of the bionovela project regarding Arelys Henao?

With so much time waiting for projects that, due to the pandemic, have become slow, I spoke with my manager to propose me as a partner (colleague or colleague who helps the actor who presents the casting in the audition) in the few productions that were in the casting process and things happened. I spent several days collaborating in Arelys Henao’s auditions. Later, my manager broke the news to me that I had agreed on the production with the character of Sirley Constanza, the manicurist from the beauty salon.

He traveled to Medellín to learn regarding the lifestyle of the character he plays. How was that almost immersive experience?

We traveled to Medellin and at that time we were on national unemployment, so we ended up shutting ourselves up in the hotel. When things calmed down a bit, we went to some communes in search of beauty salons to talk to the manicurists, learn regarding their stories with clients and thus better understand the world in which they work, in order to build the character. It was not easy to find them, because out of every five salons only one had a paisa manicurist, in the end we were able to talk to them and thus we provided the characteristics.

(We recommend: “Dear” and “Wecrashed” land on Apple TV in March 2022)

What caught your attention regarding this character?

She is a warrior woman, like many in this world. Her driving force is her daughter, who suffers from a lung disease that motivates her to put her breasts to life, but it is strange that her insecurity leads her to make bad decisions. Listening was the key for her life to improve for her and her family.

His previous job was in “Amar y vive” on Caracol TV. What does it feel like to have characters that challenge you?

Pure adrenaline. I love challenges, each one has made me grow as a person and professionally, this has taught me to believe in myself. None of this would be possible without God, with whom I have had direct communication for some time. God gives me, puts me where I should be, but he also takes away what is not for me.

He launched the short film “Tercer llama” (Third Call), a script that won by calling the Mintic. How is this story?

In 2020, the Mintic launched a call for professionals in the audiovisual industry: Big stories with small cameras. This was a lifesaver, because not only did you win the prize to make your short, but you also generated employment. We managed to produce our short film Third Call, inspired by my life story and my only goal is to give hope to those who think that, due to their condition, their future is written.

How is your business side?

With our production company Chic Performance, we were able to maintain our payroll during the pandemic, but it has been difficult. We had to restructure and, thank God, things have improved. We are not 100% yet, but we are taking up the ephemeral architecture project for fairs, interior designs, equipment, and we have generated more than twenty indirect jobs for young university students and mothers who are heads of households. And I also have the artistic talent company Don’t Make Him Ugly.

What are your projects?

I’m always involved in something with my companies and my profession as an actress. These days I’ll be on I dedicate to you, on the RCN channel, with my character Martina, the label’s assistant, and I’m still auditioning for new productions.
