On the 17th, Judge Park Ji-won of the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Affairs 210 Division announced that he had recently ruled that YouTube channel operator Mr. Park should pay 100 million won in compensation to Mr. Jang. Mr. Jang and his agency, Starship Entertainment, filed a lawsuit seeking 100 million won in damages, claiming that the YouTube channel operated by Mr. Park had damaged his reputation by continuously spreading false information regarding him. An official from Starship Entertainment said, “The case of filing a criminal complaint once morest Mr. Park was recently transferred from the police to the prosecution,” and added, “We will continue to take all possible legal measures for defamation of artists without a settlement.”
Mr. Park operated a YouTube channel from 2021 to July of last year and produced rumor video content related to K-pop idols. Currently, the channel has been deleted.
