Peter Russell-Clarke, an essential figure in the history of Apple design — even from the Jony Ive era —, ended his work at the Cupertino giant after almost two decades; The informations are from Bloomberg.

Renowned for shaping the aesthetics of Maçã’s main products and contributing to the appearance of its headquarters and stores, Russell-Clarke left the company last October. Now he is at Vasta space technology company.

The departure marks a significant transition within Apple’s celebrated design division. As a result, the almost 20 main designers who worked under Ive’s command have now left the company.

After Ive left in 2019, he founded his own design consultancy, LoveFrom, serving renowned clients such as Airbnb and Ferrari. Currently, few Ive-era designers remain at Apple, such as Richard Howarth.

During the transition after Ive’s departure, Maçã’s design team saw Evans Hankey take charge; however, Hankey recently left Apple after a relatively brief stint of about three years in the design leadership role.

Consequently, Apple’s senior designers now report directly to the head of operations, Jeff Williamsmarking a structural change in oversight of the company’s design division.

Earlier this month, we reported that the head of the iPhone and Apple Watch design team, Tang Tanwill also leave the company in February 2024. Tan was responsible for making “critical decisions” regarding some of the products.
