At 12:00 AM last Monday, October 30, former player Iván René Valenciano Pérez was arrested in the state of Florida, in the United States.

As it was learned, the 51-year-old former soccer player was driving in a high state of intoxication.
Iván René Valenciano was arrested in the United States on Monday, October 30.
The Barranquillero will be charged with first offense for alcohol or drugs, damage to property of another or a person, and reckless driving.
According to sources in the United States, the Valencian ‘Bomber’ had recently requested US residency, but his capture would prevent the process from progressing favorably.

Valenciano began his career in professional soccer with Junior de Barranquilla in 1988, where he played as a forward.
Iván René Valenciano is captured in the United States.
He was on the shark team for 5 seasons, in which he managed to position himself as a great scorer, obtaining the golden boot in 1991.
Later, he went to live in Mexico, where he initially played for the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz club in 1996-1997 and later for Atlético Morelia for the following season.

The Valencian ‘Bombardero’ was also in the under 20 category of the Colombian team. With the tricolor he played in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and later with the senior team he participated in the 1994 World Cup and the qualifiers for the 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Cups.
Valenciano retired from professional football in 2009 and dedicated himself to giving sports conferences.
