Ivan Leko should succeed Carl Hoefkens on the Standard bench. This is what this Wednesday reveals la DH et Rossel group newspapers while the Croatian coach had been cited with insistence in recent hours.
Leko, 45, is preparing to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Rouchesspecify the two daily newspapers.
The Croatian coach is well known in our championship for having coached Saint-Trond (2016-2017), Antwerp (2020) but especially Club Bruges (2017-2019) with whom he won a Belgian championship title and a Belgian Cup. Leko also has experience abroad in Al Aïn (United Arab Emirates), Shaghai Port (China) and finally at Hajduk Split (Croatia) where he officiated until last October.
Leko is expected to take up his duties by the weekend while the first team players are due to leave for training in Marbella on Saturday.
