It’s been two years since Ivan Cornejo launched Damagedthe album that reached No. 1 on Regional Mexican Albums for 37 non-consecutive weeks, the fourth most since the chart was launched in 1985.
Today, she has released her highly anticipated album LOOKher major label debut (Interscope Records), following offering previews like “Intercambio injusto,” “Dónde estás” and “Baby Please,” which debuted at No. 8 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. Billboard In March, his first top 10 hit on the chart since 2021.
Last month, the 20-year-old hit artist from Riverside, California, announced the album with a cryptic publication. “Ivan, do you think you will fall in love once more?” a voice asks Cornejo, who is sitting in front of a campfire. “I don’t want to,” he quickly replies. On his digital cover of Billboard In January, Cornejo said his third album would be “bigger” than Damaged thanks to “musical and lyrical improvements.”
The Mexican-American singer-songwriter rose to prominence in 2021 with his first single, “Está daño,” which earned him a No. 1 on the Latin Songwriters chart. Billboard dated October 30, 2021, while becoming the second regional Mexican song to appear on the all-genre Hot 100. To date, Cornejo has placed 14 songs on Hot Latin Songs and ranked No. 10 on the year-end Top Latin Artists chart. Billboard 2023.
