The IRM has placed the Brussels-Capital Region as well as the provinces of Liège, Luxembourg, Walloon Brabant and Flemish Brabant in code orange in anticipation of intense rainfall expected overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday but also during the day.

The other provinces are in yellow code.

A very active undulating cold front will influence the Belgian weather and will cause intense precipitation, warns the IRM. We can locally find between 50 and 70 mm of rain in 24 hours. In places, thunderstorms and gales will also be possible.

The areas that will experience the heaviest precipitation are difficult to predict.
