It’s up to Helvetia to open its meta-subsidiary

Helvetia and its online insurer Smile are now present in the metaverse. The insurer intends to offer a new experience to its customers and make its own experiences with these virtual worlds.

A few days following its competitor Axa, the Swiss insurer Helvetia is opening up a space in the metaverse. The company intends to offer a new type of experience there to its customers, who can request an appointment online and meet a Helvetia specialist in the form of an avatar, provided they are equipped with a headset. VR. “In the metaverse, our clients can interact with a specialist and have facts explained to them. It’s a totally different experience from reading texts on a website. We can’t wait to see how this unique experience will be received,” explains Ralph Jeitziner, Head of Distribution at Helvetia Switzerland.

The insurer also wishes to take advantage of this experience to develop its own understanding of these virtual worlds and their technologies, and to identify emerging insurance needs. For the insurer, the project must also make it possible to experiment

“We are at the dawn of a technological evolution which opens the doors to a whole new world. We enter this universe with our clients. In this way, we learn what their needs are in the virtual space,” comments Jan Kundert, Head of Customer and Market Management at Helvetia Switzerland.

For its presence in the metaverse, Helvetia relies on Meta’s platform, if the terms and conditions (and the lack of character legs) are to be believed. Part of the Helvetia group, the online insurer Smile will also be present in the metaverse. At the moment, only a few Helvetia employees are equipped with the necessary virtual reality glasses and have been specially trained.
