With just under two minutes of trailer, the first images of GTA 6 ask almost as many questions as they provide answers. Among them, we can find the fear of graphic downgrade. According to a former Rockstar developer, the final game will be good as we saw in the trailer.
An eye-popping trailer
On the night of Monday December 4 to Tuesday December 5, Rockstar decided to unleash the beast by revealing the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Although it was normally scheduled to be revealed 15 hours later, that did not prevent it from generating phenomenal hype around the future title to be released in 2025. With around 100 million views in 24 hours, the trailer for GTA 6 n did not beat the world record in all categories but still reached the podium, and suffice to say that the excitement surrounding this sequel is not regarding to stop.
Among the things that the public particularly remembered from these new images, we note that the game seems particularly sublime. Whether in terms of light effects, textures or even the density and diversity of the crowd, everything suggests that Grand Theft Auto VI will certainly be one of the most beautiful games that we can imagine in our time. Of course, this is only a first trailer at the moment, and some fans are already worried regarding experiencing a graphical downgrade at the time of release.
No graphics downgrade coming
Players are used to hearing the same song: at the time of the announcement the game is very pretty, but with the controller in hand it’s a completely different story. It must be said that the examples of this unfortunate problem are legion, so much so that it is now customary today to take out a few tweezers when a trailer catches our eye. Given the beauty of the first images of GTA 6, suffice to say that many players are already starting to fear a graphics downgrade. Yet, according to a former Rockstar developer, the game will look like what we saw in the trailer:
I’m really impressed with the graphics performance demonstrated by this in-game version of the trailer. Often we can see announcements made via cutscenes, that’s not that here. When you play the game, it will actually look like this.
The developer Mike York shared this opinion on his own YouTube channel while filming a reaction video to the GTA 6 trailer. A regular at the house, he actually worked on Grand Theft Auto V as well as Red Dead Redemption 2, two games that have already achieved the feat of pushing graphics to another level by the time of their release. According to him, Rockstar has a habit of “push consoles and hardware to their limits with a great level of detail”.
It must be said that Rockstar has already accustomed us to releasing trailers directly taken from the game engine. If you have fun going back to watch the announcement trailers for GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2, you will notice that the images used clearly demonstrate the graphics of the game even if certain scenes do not really have the same lighting or dimming settings. ‘background. Everything therefore suggests that GTA 6 will be as beautiful as what the trailer promises us. Response when the game is released in 2025.
