Khaled Adeeb, the son of journalist Amr Adeeb, has criticized the backlash faced by his cousin, young artist Amira Adeeb, following the release of her first song, “Kart Mahrouk,” on his account on the popular social networking site “X.”
Khaled defended Amira and was eager to respond to the criticism, stating: “I just want to address the negative sentiments directed at my cousin Amira Adeeb. Khaled continued, “Amira is the official spokesperson for a well-known brand, one of the largest cosmetics companies in history, and her appearance at the launch event created a significant buzz at the mall, attracting a large number of young attendees. Most of the girls who came to see her were under 25, and I witnessed it myself. This is an impressive achievement.”
He added: “In addition to that, she has established her own brand, acted, and is now producing her own videos, which is no small feat. Neither I, my father, nor her father possess the same influence she has. While I may personally find her music lacking, and her acting only average, I genuinely believe Amira deserves the success she has attained.”
In response to the criticism, he stated: “The song is quite ordinary, nothing peculiar about it, and it’s all in tune (he’s still singing, and of course daddy bought you the microphone), but the girl is genuinely hardworking, and I’m proud to have someone like her in the industry.” In another response, he clarified, “I didn’t claim that the song was a success. I simply noted that it is normal and that the views attacking it are hostile, merely because of her last name and style.”
He remarked: “Honestly, I’m not interested in engaging in discussions over what constitutes success or the definition of artistic achievement. I’m not here to convince anyone that she’s a talented individual. Simply put, this is my little cousin, the only girl in the family with whom I’m familiar, and I see her pride in her work. I feel compelled to defend her, and that goes without saying.”
