That’s what head coach Jared Bednar said Saturday night following Game 3 of the series between his team and the Edmonton Oilers.
“He will at least miss the rest of this series. This will be the minimum. His absence might be prolonged”, in particular said the pilot of the Avalanche.
Kadri was the victim of an unsightly blow from Evander Kane in the opening moments of the game. While trying to recover the puck close to the boards, the Avs representative was pushed in the back and fell heavily once morest the ramp.
“That kind of shot…that’s the most dangerous thing in hockey,” Bednar said.
Kane received a five-minute penalty for his gesture, but he was not ejected from the game.
“I arrived in defensive withdrawal. The puck slipped into the corner and I knew it [Kadri] likes to send her back to the other side of the ramp. I was just trying to contain it. That’s really all I did. Unfortunately, he hit the boards and injured his hands,” Kane said following the game, which ended in a 4-2 win for the Avalanche.
Before getting injured, Kadri had some great streaks. The 31-year-old veteran hit the target six times and provided eight assists for 14 points in 13 playoff games.
The Colorado club, which leads 3-0 in the series, will try to secure its ticket to the Stanley Cup final on Monday night.
