It’s official – Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be released until 2023

In early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be released definitively before 2023, confirmed by Swen Vincke, creative director of BG3 and founder of Larian, with our colleagues at Eurogamer earlier in the year, this has once more been validated by a new update from Larian Studios developers.

In the brief three-minute video you’ll find below – released as part of 2022 D&D Direct and titled “ Baldur’s Gate 3 – The Journey So Far – the team reflects on Baldur’s Gate 3 progress to date, which it says, “ keep getting better“. It also ends any hopes that the full game might be released in 2022.

« We’ve already added a lot of awesome stuff, and there’s more to come.“said Larian. ” So join us in Early Access on our journey to Baldur’s Gate 3, or see you in 2023 when the game releases.«

Some had hoped that Vincke’s comments that Larian ” saw the light at the end of the tunnel and had a fairly concrete plan earlier this year meant we might expect a late 2022 release, but it looks like we’re going to have to stick with the Early Access release for now.
