“It’s not going very well”, Julie Pietri announces that she has cancer

The announcement was made on social media. In a video posted on her Instagram account, Julie Pietri announced that she had a endometrial cancer. “I owe you the truth, I’ll tell you, because we’re not going to see each other for a while…”, revealed the star of the 80s.

On March 7, she will have to undergo an operation. If the interpreter of the hit “Eve get up” says she is “combative” and decided to go “at the end of the fight”. But she concedes that “it’s not going very well”. The 67-year-old singer chose to announce her illness herself: “I don’t want anyone else to take what I just told you”. To overcome her cancer, she asks the public to support her: “I need your support and maybe we can fight together”.

Endometrial cancer, what is it? “A cancer develops when one of the cells of the initially normal endometrium transforms then multiplies in an anarchic way until forming a cluster of abnormal cells called a tumour”, summarizes the National Cancer Institute. In France, endometrial cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer in women. It is estimated at 8,224 the number of new cases in 2018. Generally, it affects women following menopause with an average age at diagnosis of 68 years.
