A member of the British royal family joins the cast of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ in the UK.
Mike Tindall, the husband of King Charles’ niece Zara Tindall, will travel to the Australian jungle next month, according to The Sun. The 43-year-old is said to be the ITV show’s biggest signing to date. “It’s a huge blow. Mike has witnessed the most important moments in royal history for generations“, explained a source.
“He will certainly be understated, but his mere presence means this series will be a must-see.“
Mike will join the ranks of singer Boy George, comedian Seann Walsh and DJ Chris Moyles. The former rugby player officially joined the royal family in 2011 when he married Zara. The couple have three children, Mia, 8, Lena, 4, and Lucas, 1.
Mike has long boasted of the reception the royals have had since joining the fold. “Zara’s mom is a legend and her dad is adorable too“, he said in a 2008 interview.
More recently, in a 2022 interview with The Telegraph, Mike reaffirmed how “nice” the royals have been to him. “They made my family feel welcome“said the former sportsman.
“I always felt like I was part of it and I think it’s because the Queen is an amazing woman. It’s a fantastic family.“
Following news of Her Majesty’s death, Mike told his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, that he was “blown away” by the global outpouring of grief.
“Zara loved the Queen beyond anything. Their bond with horses – likewise with the Princess Royal – they had a real bond around that.”
