It’s a day of flexibility in Quebec

New reductions in health measures come into effect today, everywhere in Quebec.

The dining rooms of the restaurants can reopen and accommodate the occupants of two family bubbles or a maximum of four people at the same table.

The reception capacity is reduced to 50% and a distance of one meter between the tables must be respected.


Restaurants must close at midnight and the sale of food and drink must cease at 11 p.m.

The vaccination passport will be required at the entrance.

Occupants of two residences or a maximum of four people can congregate inside a private residence.

The Government of Quebec strongly recommends that everyone who gathers be properly vaccinated.

The practice of extracurricular activities in primary and secondary schools will once more be permitted, but games between schools, tournaments and competitions remain prohibited.

Young people under the age of 18 will be able to resume their leisure and sports activities in groups of up to 25 people.

The vaccination passport will be required for young people aged 13 and over.

Quebec also authorizes as of today the reopening of aquariums, botanical gardens, insectariums, zoological gardens and other similar places at 50% of their capacity.

Theaters and cinemas will be able to reopen from February 7.

These places of entertainment will have to limit the number of spectators to 50% of their capacity or to a maximum of 500 people.

Intermissions will be prohibited and the vaccination passport will be compulsory for all spectators.

Outdoor events will also be able to resume and accommodate a maximum of 1,000 people from February 7.
