Rome – The discussions regarding the bears in Trentino continue. Italian Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin on Saturday spoke out in favor of sterilizing female bears to help manage the growing population. Sterilizing animals would eliminate the need to kill bears to reduce populations through birth control. The minister argued that the aggressive behavior of female bears with cubs would also be eliminated.
