The Chilean pilot Ítalo Pedemonte is out of life risk following his serious accident suffered in the Dakar Rally. The Enrico Racing Team representative presents multiple fractures and is kept under observation.
A reassuring news was communicated in the last hours by the Enrico Racing Team, the Chilean rider’s team Ítalo Pedemonte during his experience in the Dakar 2022.
And it is that through a statement the entity confirmed that Pedemonte it is out of life risk following his serious accident starring in the aforementioned competition.
Pedemonte suffered a severe mishap on stage 4 of the event and ended up being evacuated by helicopter, all thanks to the timely warning of the competitor Pedro Bianchi to the center.
Before, Ítalo was conscious and even walking, but he fainted, which caused him to be intubated by the organization’s doctor (before getting on the helicopter) and transferred to the emergency unit of the National Guard Hospital.
“At dawn today, he was transferred to the intensive care unit specialized in trauma, and is under total sedation for 3 to 5 days in a protocol manner. He will be evaluated every day to continue with the evaluations and thus have greater clarity in his diagnosis “, warns the letter.
The letter also remarks that “even though the blow was mainly to his head, Ítalo is out of risk of life, however, he has some fractures in the nose, cheekbone and jaw.”
“Due to the above, it has a lot of edema in the area, so the doctors are working on it, draining as much as possible and, thus, making future evaluations,” he adds.
Finally, the Pedemonte team thanked for the many deaths of affection and made a call for tranquility.
On January 5, our friend and Enrico Racing Team rider, Ítalo Pedemonte, suffered a severe accident on stage 4 of this edition of the Dakar 2022.
According to the information collected, and given the type of race, our pilot was alone at the time of the incident. He was found a few minutes later by the pilot Pedro Bianchi, who gave the warning to the central.

As reported, the accident was regarding 370 km into the special, in a fast area, with rocky trails and it is unknown how it happened.After the pilot gave notice to the central, and since the refuel was at 377 km, the helicopter arrived a few minutes later.
