Italian Venture Capital Backs Multiverse Computing’s Quantum AI Expansion

Multiverse Computing Strengthens Commercial Presence in Italy Through New Investment

Collaborative project with Italian industrial giant Leonardo underscores commitment

Multiverse Computing, a leader in value-based quantum and quantum-inspired AI software solutions, has secured significant investment from CDP Venture Capital Sgr, Italy’s largest venture capital firm. This investment, as part of a Series A round, will propel Multiverse Computing’s expansion within the Italian market.

The focus is two-fold: growing its commercial footprint and furthering collaboration with leading Italian research institutions. Specifically, the funds will be utilized to expand their Milan office, establish new public and private partnerships, and attract top-tier talent.

“We are excited to deepen our involvement in Italy,” stated Enrique Lizaso Olmos, CEO and co-founder of Multiverse Computing. “This exciting partnership with CDP Venture Capital allows us to significantly enhance collaborations within the Italian research ecosystem’s cutting edge.”

Operating with prominent Italian partners

The investment will also enable Multiverse Computing to immensely bolster some influential strategic partnerships already in progress. For example, a key collaboration with EuroHPC and the renowned Leonardo supercomputer at the CINECA datacenter in Bologna will be significantly supported. Multiverse Computing has reserved GPU node hours at CINECA, with the aim of further benchmarking and enhancing the performance of CompactifAI. This innovative tool compresses large language models, while maintaining their performance levels. The objective is securing energy efficiency: the project aims to test advanced tensor network compression techniques for Large Language Models (LLMs) and validate performance and energy efficiency against the original model. Collaboration on such projects with major Italian players is key to the company’s strategic growth in Optoelectronics.

Multiverse Computing is also collaborating with Leonardo, a leading Italian multinational focused on aerospace, defense, and security. This multi-year project leverages quantum and quantum-inspired AI technology to develop advanced predictive maintenance algorithms for aircraft systems, contributing to technology development for European Industry.

“This project exemplifies our commitment to support companies fostering technology advancement,” commented Agostino Scornajenchi, CEO and General Manager of CDP Venture Capital.

“We see ourselves more as collaborators: our investment represents a strategic advance towards Italy positioning itself as a hub for innovation and technological advancement.”

Deepening Ties with Leading Academic Institutions

Multiverse Computing has been actively cultivating a robust relationship with the Italian quantum community. This new funding will also amplify the company’s involvement with institutions like Politecnico di Milano and Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro.

Gianni Del Bimbo, Chief Operations Officer of Multiverse Computing, stated, “Italian universities are driving progress across a range of industries fueled by Quantum AI solutions.”

The company is committed to leveraging this investment to collaborate on envolving projects in quantum
