A young Italian driver died following a fall on the first stage from Haid to Marchtrenk. The 17-year-old fell on Friday on the descent from Mistelbacher Berg and was flown to the Kepler Clinic in Linz by helicopter following first aid. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital overnight.
The first stage was stopped following the accident, the tour is now completely canceled.
