On the other hand, the caretaker minister for information and culture of Punjab, Aamir Mir, while talking to Independent Urdu, said: “There is no ban on the film Barbie in Punjab, but the film has been temporarily stopped for screening because It contains some objectionable content which is regarding homosexuality and is not compatible with our culture and it is being objected from various quarters.
He said that the evaluation of the film will be completed soon and the full board of censor board will sit for this work and it is wrong that the film has been sent to Dubai for further editing. The film will be screened in Lahore itself but it will take a few more days now.
