This Thursday, March 2, around 9:30 a.m., a truck driver of Belgian nationality was present at a farmer’s in the town of Bû located in Eure-et-Loir in order to collect his straw bales.
It was while he was loading all the straw into his truck that one of the bales fell on him. The Belgian died, report our colleagues from the Republican Echo.
“One of the bales that was at the top of the semi-trailer came off,” explains Captain Laurent Aussage, deputy commander of the Dreux company. “The bundle which weighs nearly 350 kg fell on the driver”.
Quickly, help was sent to the scene but alas it was too late. Thus, the 41-year-old truck driver who was to bring his load to Belgium, was declared dead when the emergency workers arrived.
The Dreux gendarmerie was then entrusted with an investigation to try to understand the circumstances of the death of the forties. “An autopsy will be carried out at the request of the prosecutor,” said Captain Laurent Aussage.
