The Chicago Tourism Board announced on the 4th (local time) that Chicago took the top spot for the sixth consecutive year since 2017 in the ‘2022 Readers’ Choice Award: America’s Best Big City’ category published by the travel magazine ‘Condé Nast Traveler’.
According to the Chicago Tourism Board, Condé Nast Traveler said, “It is the result of collecting the opinions of more than 240,000 readers,” and “There is no other city other than Chicago in the 35-year history of the ‘Readers’ Choice Awards’ where a city has been ranked number one for three consecutive times or more.”
“Chicago is known for its impressive architecture, first-class museums, specialty restaurants, countless craft breweries and world-class entertainment,” Condénast Traveler said. To experience all the must-dos, you have to visit it several times over and over once more,” he explained.
In second place was Honolulu, Hawaii. San Diego, Nashville, New York, Boston, San Francisco, New Orleans, Washington DC and Seattle also made the top 10.
“The number of visitors to Chicago for tourism or business in the summer of 2022 reached 90 percent of the summer of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Chicago Tourism Board said.
