Young stars Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill won the applause of the fans by showing a remarkable performance in this match along with Ashwin. Both scored centuries in the second innings.

Following this, former Australian superstar Adam Gilchrist is praising Rishabh Pant’s performances. Gilli called the ball’s return one of the best in the history of cricket. Gilchrist’s remarks were made while speaking on the Club Prairie Fire YouTube channel.

“Rishabh Pant’s is one of the greatest comebacks in the history of cricket,” Gilchrist said.

He added that buying a ticket to watch Rishabh Pant’s match would cost money.

‘If you pay money and buy a ticket to watch the game, you can take advantage of it when you see Rishabh Pant’s performance. That’s why I am willing to pay money to buy a ticket to watch him play. I think regular fans feel the same way.

He manages to bring a class of his own in everything he does. He handles everything in a very fun way. He knows how to act in a fun way. That’s what makes him different,’ Gilchrist said.

Pant scored 39 runs in the first innings of the match against Bangladesh and got out after scoring 109 runs from 128 balls in the second innings.

After this century, Pant also held the distinction of being the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman who scored the most Test centuries.

Wicketkeepers with most centuries for India in Tests

(In the order of Star – Innings – Century)

Rishabh Pant – 58 – 6*

M.S. Dhoni – 114 – 6

Wriddhiman Saha – 54 – 3

Buddi Kunderan – 28 – 2

Farooq Engineer – 87 – 2

Syed Kirmani – 124 – 2

Four of Pant’s six centuries have been overseas centuries, that too against Sena nations.

The player’s top score is 159* scored against Australia in Sydney in 2019. The star’s other overseas centuries came from Birmingham, The Oval and Cape Town.

The match against Bangladesh was also Pant’s return to the international red ball format after being injured in December 2022. The return of the ball and the return to form is very beneficial for the Indian Test team. Fans are celebrating the return of the ball as India has series to play this year including the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Ball had missed several matches following the injury. 2023 IPL, 2023 ODI World Cup and World Test Championship final were all lost to the star. But the cricket world sees the ball regaining what it lost one by one.
