“It was important to end on a happy note”

After almost 20 years in the shoes of Alice Nevers, Marine Delterme (for whom television must be a whistleblower) finally hangs up the clothes of the law woman in a double episode that TF1 offers this Thursday, February 10 at 21:10. In order to make a final overview, Télé-Loisirs spoke with the actress. To your tissues!

Télé-Loisirs: Were you surprised when TF1 decided to stop Alice Nevers ?

Marine Delterme : In fact, the decision was split. On the one hand, in fact, the channel wanted to stop some of its historical series and on my side, I had begun to develop writing projects, which I wanted to produce myself and tackle new topics… so I thought it was also a good time to stop. I also have theater desires, which have not necessarily been able to materialize earlier because of the shootings ofAlice Nevers. So it was really a common desire.

We wanted to end on a joyful note“, says Marine Delterme

How did you experience this final ofAlice Nevers ?

I was already glad there was one. And until TF1 had read the script, there was uncertainty. We really wanted to end with a grandiose, different episode. Since the plot is regarding the world of jockeys and horse racing, the decorum is really special. Alice is transferred to Normandy, we discover a new team for her. Which allowed me to pair up with Laurent Gablon. The MarquandJean-Michel Tinivelli, who claims to have begun to feel a void) he is now in immersion. And since we wanted to end on a joyful note, the end point of the series is the wedding. It was all the more important because the current period is difficult and we wanted to provide viewers with pleasure.

How did this long-awaited wedding go by the fans?

Since, for once, we shot the episode in chronological order, we really ended up with all the wedding scenes. And I felt like I was organizing it like a real one. I called all the actors I had worked with since 2002, from Jean Dell to John B. Smith… it was important that they felt well. It was not obvious because everyone had their schedules well loaded. I put the same energy as if it were a real wedding. But I was blown away that they might all come. It was really, really joyful on set. Maybe the emotion will win me over watching the episodes.

I don’t want a routine“, acknowledges the interpreter of Alice Nevers

Weren’t you moved at all on the set?

Yes, at the very end when I give the speech in front of all the actors who have accompanied us for years. Many are real clowns. It was a pleasure to meet once more, from the little ones to the big roles, and conclude this series that has mattered to all of us. But on the other hand, I don’t have nostalgia. I have a lot of projects and I’m thinking that I’m flying to a new life. Especially since roles, especially for us women, are becoming more and more interesting.

Would you like to play a new recurring character or is it too early to start such an adventure once more?

I’m open to anything. If I like the project, of course. Whether it’s on a channel, a platform… But I don’t want a routine. On Alice Nevers, I was not bored because I was collaborating on the writing. every year, we decided what we were going to tell in his private life, intrigues. If I do something, I would do it because I like it but I’m not looking for a new series at all costs. I really like the idea of making units or mini-series with a strong universe, for a certain period of time. For now, I’m here. In this profession, you are never sure of anything and anything can happen. That’s the good thing.
