Minuto30.com .- In the last few hours, it was learned of the death of a woman who was enjoying an afternoon of attractions at Fenapo in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
The unfortunate incident reportedly occurred when the safety railing of the basket that the attraction participants ride on opened, causing the woman to fall into the void.
According to Mexican media, the victim of the fatal accident was identified as Irene del Carmen, 39, originally from the State of Mexico and mother of three children.
Irene “slipped” out of the basket
According to unofficial reports, the grate of the basket in which the woman was riding opened, causing her to slip when she was at one of the highest points of the Chicago Ferris wheel.
The screams of the attendees were not long in coming.
Irene fell into the void and died instantly due to the sudden impact against the pavement, in the area where other visitors to the fair were waiting their turn to get on the attraction.
The Fair Board regretted the accident and offered to collaborate with the authorities in the investigations; it was also learned that the victim’s family will be compensated, although the amount was not specified.
