In the Vitebsk region, the authorities allowed residents to export products to Lithuania and Latvia without restrictions, Sputnik Belarus reports.
The decision of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee states that until December 31, 2022, “a ban on the export by individuals from Belarus outside the customs territory of the EAEU of goods for personal use” does not apply if they are purchased by individuals and exported to Latvia and Lithuania.
Earlier, regional authorities allowed the export of products without restrictions until May 15.
In April, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that residents of the Baltic countries and Poland were “standing along the border” to buy Belarusian products. And the border guards nobly let them into the country during religious holidays.
According to Lukshenko, residents of neighboring countries dream of “at least buying buckwheat.”
He also added: “Okay, cereals – no salt, they ask us for salt.”
