Like many Belgian citizens and dozens of companies and businesses in our country, the chocolatier Beugnies helps, in its own way, the victims of the war in Ukraine. The brand is selling chocolates for 5 euros, half of which is donated to the Ukraine1212 association.
But these are not just any chocolates. The choice is indeed controversial since the chocolate maker has decided to sell… chocolate pomegranates. If the intention is beautiful, some people wonder regarding the choice that was made concerning the aesthetics: “They might have made a heart”, is surprised for example a faithful of the chocolate factory.
Faced with these criticisms, the managers explained themselves on Facebook: “WE TALK ABOUT WAR. Let it be clear. People watch the news, live with it. But that feeling quickly fades away […] We have, as a chocolatier, chosen to launch an action for the Ukraine1212 consortium. The product had to be clear and reflect reality. But it also had to be sophisticated, like all Beugnies Les Chocolats products. […] So we opted for a grenade. This reflects reality in times of war. This is a strong signal to appeal to consumers”.
And you, what do you think of this choice?
