The Ministry of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security, presented, on Monday, July 25, 2022, the report on the achievements of the year 2021-2022. That is to say the period from July 2021 to June 2022. These are achievements related to the security sector and that of the internal administration. Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca is delighted with the results achieved during this period. He indicated that all the actions that were included in the 2021-2022 action plan have been carried out at more than 90%.

Minister Ndirakobuca indicated that, within the framework of the national reforestation project “Ewe Burundi urambaye” and community works, 171,513 tree seedlings were planted throughout the country during this year and more than a hundred nurseries are already equipped for the next campaign.

Thus, with regard to social dialogue, regular monthly consultation meetings with managers and staff were held, namely: twelve meetings held with managers, five moral talks in the five police regions with all categories of the Burundi National Police; six meetings with governors and administrators; two meetings held with police and civilian personnel; two meetings held with non-profit associations (ASBLs) and two meetings held with religious denominations; forty-two OPJs refreshed on the various investigative techniques; twenty-four OBJs retrained on ethics and the legal use of fear and 1,610 police candidates, including sixty police officer candidates, five chaplain candidates, 250 police non-commissioned officer candidates and 1,300 police officer candidates were recruited and are undergoing police training in the respective training structures.
