Released in 1994, Speed was a huge hit at the box office. Carried by a Keanu Reeves-Sandra Bullock duo with small onions, the action film generated 350 million dollars in revenue for a 30 million dollar budget. The temptation to produce a sequel was therefore great. Corn Speed 2 ran straight into the wall.
“I’m still embarrassed”
To this day, the 57-year-old actress regrets having participated in this sequel to the open sea and without tail or head made three years later. “This movie makes no sense. I’m still embarrassed that I did.” she confided to Daniel Radcliffe, her partner in The Secret of the Lost City, in a joint interview. Keanu Reeves had more flair and declined the offer. “At the time, I didn’t give feedback following reading the script. I really wanted to work with Sandra Bullock (…) and I loved Speed, but a cruise liner? I had nothing once morest the artists involved, but at the time I felt like it wasn’t going to do it.”, explained the actor recently. At the time, this choice had cost him dearly, since Fox then refused to work with him for a decade.
