The Epic Games Store free game as of December 28, 2022 may already have been spotted. Well-known insider billbil-kun, who has long uncovered free games from PS Plus, the Epic Games Store and beyond, shared a hint in the form of an image and text. The image left many bewildered, but the text was deciphered fairly quickly. Assassin’s Creed Origins is speculated to be free-to-play on December 28th.
Indeed, billbil-kun shared the phrase: “I am also proud of my Kabyle origins”. The Kabiles are a group of Berbers in northern Algeria. This, and the use of the word “origins” brings to mind Assassin’s Creed Origins, where Bayek, the protagonist, is a Berber. And the image shared by the insider looks suspiciously like a modern-day Kabyle flag.
Of course, while this is only speculation, but they seem plausible. Here you can see the post from the Reddit user who gathered all the evidence that Assassin’s Creed Origins will be giving away on December 28th.
Recall also that Assassin’s Creed Origins was repeatedly distributed or included in subscription services. Therefore, it will not be strange to see the game as a gift in the Epic Games Store. The game is now available on the Fortnite Creators Digital Store.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is the “first” chapter in the most recent Assassin’s Creed saga. Subsequent games were Odyssey and Valhalla, with the latter proving popular with the public. The game also received a lot of support following launch from Ubisoft.
