“It is the result of a manhunt of several months”

According to information from the Antwerp media, Flor Bressers was arrested in an apartment in Zurich where he was staying with his Dutch girlfriend and her baby.

“The arrest, carried out by special units and with the help of other Swiss police forces, is the result of an intensive manhunt lasting several months to find the fugitive,” the spokesperson said. of the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office Kristof Aerts.

Flor Bressers had been sentenced to four years in prison for the hostage-taking and ill-treatment of a Dutch drug trafficker in 2016. He allegedly screwed up a drug delivery to England. Flor Bressers was nicknamed “The Finger Cutter” following he cut off the trafficker’s finger with a pruning shears as a punishment.

Originally from Limburg, his last known address was located in Brasschaat. He was linked to two drug cases. The first took place in Dendermonde, where containers filled with rice from Suriname were seized. These had been ordered by a Belgian consul in Moldova and the sender of the containers was found murdered by a bullet in the head on a beach in Guyana.

He was also wanted for the clandestine introduction of several containers with drugs, via the Antwerp company Kriva Rochem.

For a long time, Flor Bressers managed to stay safe from the police and justice, but thanks to the cracking of Encrochat and Sky ECC, he was identified as a major player in the international drug trade.
