The caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has said that we will hand over the country to the next elected government in a better condition than the one we found it in, while it is hoped that the government that will come to power following the February 8 elections, including the country’s economy. It will focus on the basic problems of the country.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the Press Information Department to create public awareness regarding the general elections, Murtaza Solangi said that only those nations move fast towards development and prosperity that believe in diversity.
He said that minorities have equal civil rights in Pakistan, Pakistan will be strong only when we give equal civil rights to minorities as per the concept of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that minorities have played a significant role in Pakistan’s major achievements, especially in the education and health sectors.
The Federal Information Minister said that the current caretaker government is a constitutional and legal setup that will ensure free and fair elections in the country on February 8.
He said that it is written in the preamble of the constitution of Pakistan that this country will be run by its elected representatives who will come to power only through elections.
He said that despite all the speculations, the caretaker government remained steadfast in its stand regarding the conduct of elections.
Murtaza Solangi said that no country can be strong without economic security and strength. The government coming to power will focus on the basic problems of the country including the national economy.
He expressed hope that the new government will vigorously pursue the economic reform agenda and take steps to increase the tax base and improve governance.
He said that in the era of social and digital media, artificial intelligence, deepfake, voice cloning, misinformation have become a challenge that needs to be tackled.
He said that instead of spreading hatred and chaos, we need to work collectively to promote unity.
