It is FINALLY possible to delete or modify a text message sent with your iPhone

That’s it: it is now possible to delete and edit text messages… following sending them. Here’s what might change on your iPhone with the new iOS operating system update.

We have all experienced this situation where we send a text message too quickly filled with fault, or, even worse, to the wrong person! In the past, nothing might be done if this had happened, but that time is over.

Apple introduced several new features with its iOS16 update and here they are.

iMessage

This feature was long overdue: it is now possible to edit and delete a recently sent text message with the iMessage messaging app. You can also mark messages as unread to remind you to read them later.

Unlock screen

The unlock screen is the element that benefits the most from this update.

Of the widgets have been added to allow users to customize the screen when the phone is locked. You will have access, at a glance, to a wealth of information, such as upcoming calendar events, the battery level of your connected devices, alarms, time zones, activity tracking daily, etc

We can also modify the font, the color of the clock and the color of the date so that they fit better with the wallpaper.

Mail

Mail users now have the ability to schedule an email to be sent and to delete an email that has just been sent.

A reminder function on emails has been integrated there too. Thus, when a callback is requested, the message in question will appear at the top of the list. Old sent emails will also appear at the top of the inbox, like in Gmail, prompting the user to follow up.

Medication Tracking

iOS 16 has updated the Health app, which now allows you to create a medication list to track the intake of medications, vitamins and supplements.

These features are just a few of the many improvements that are now available with iOS 16. To see the full list of new features, go to the Apple website.

How to update your iPhone?

To take advantage of all these new features, download the latest version of the operating system as follows:

  • Open app Settings on your iPhone;
  • Go in General, then in Software, then in Update.

Make sure the battery has enough power, otherwise connect your phone to charge. The software is available on iPhone 8 and later.

Also, it is important to note that iPadOS will not be updated to version 16. An update will be rolled out later as iPadOS 16.1.
