The Meteorological Authority said that during the past few hours, heavy rains fell on the Emirates, Iran, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain, and led to massive floods, although these rains are seasonal and usual in summer, but this year they exceeded expectations.
The authority added that the recent rains are one of the heaviest cases that the UAE has ever been exposed to, in terms of the abundance and quantities of rain, as 70 mm fell in 48 hours.
And the authority explained: “After the rains have subsided in some countries, it is expected to reach Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iraq if it has not already rained in some places.”
