Provincial authorities implemented new strategies to extend anticovid vaccination before the imminent start of the school year, such as itinerant inoculation in schools, festivals and tourist centers for children and adolescents, the “Night of the Vaccines”, the mobile vaccination clinics that tour the neighborhoods or the applications of different doses without prior appointment for the elderly in different health centers.
In this framework, the Minister of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, Nicolás Kreplak, highlighted: “The start of classes is approaching and it is essential to be protected to guarantee a safe return. For this reason, in the Province we have a free booster vaccine for all education workers”.
Looking ahead to the start of classes, the head of the Buenos Aires health portfolio indicated that social distancing will be maintained “without this restricting the absolute presence of 100 percent” and that, also, “with the ventilation and monitoring of the carbon dioxide in closed spaces and with the use of chinstraps or masks “.
In addition, he pointed out that there will be no bubbles and that not only vaccination against Covid will be promoted, but also the rest of the vaccines on the calendar. Likewise, the Buenos Aires Government bought 33,000 carbon dioxide meters that will be installed in the classrooms to guarantee the effectiveness of cross ventilation in closed places.
Kreplak pointed out that they visited 1,174 Buenos Aires schools to vaccinate 129,515 boys and girls and that the isolation protocol for the youngest children will be the same as for any patient: with a complete vaccination schedule, seven days of isolation and three more days of care; without complete vaccination schedule, ten days of isolation.
Vaccination plan
More than 91 million vaccines were applied until this Wednesday throughout the country, of which some 40 million correspond to the first doses, 35,862,455 to the complete scheme of two, and just over 15 million between the additional and reinforcement, according to the data monitor of the Ministry of Health of the Nation.
The national government also indicated that with the recent arrival of two new shipments of vaccines from the United States, Argentina exceeded the 109 million doses received since the start of the Strategic Vaccination Plan and reported that 102,779,023 doses were distributed, of which more of 97 million were distributed among the provinces and another five million were donated to other countries.
