Sergio Garrido, state governor Barinas who was elected in the elections that the Supreme Court ordered to be repeated, recognized Nicolás Maduro as president.

Sergio Garrido recognizes Maduro

This was stated in an interview he gave to the program Vladimir at 1, in which he commented: «You cannot ignore Nicolás Maduro. It is a reality, he is there, he is the president. Whether we like it or not, it is reality.

«I want to say to the people of Venezuela and especially to my fellow Barinese that we are turning the page here. Here we all need right now. All good men and women who want to contribute, help advance our state, welcome. This is independent of the side they are on, the side of the PSUV, the side of Chavismo, Madurismo, or whatever they want to call it.

He insisted: «Here we are not looking at colors or political overtones, nor cards either. We simply want them to come and collaborate to seek improvements in our state ».

He called on the business union to contribute to improving living conditions, and urged the international community through the embassies to help “move Barinas forward.”

The swearing in will be on Thursday

Asked if he had communications with the outgoing administration of the government, Garrido said that a liaison commission was installed that established conversations with the governor in charge, following the resignation of Argenis Chávez.

Similarly, Garrido reported that communications were established with the deputy of the State Legislative Council.

“It was agreed that next Thursday is the swearing in of the legislative body and I will immediately take office as governor,” he announced.

He indicated that his cabinet will be made up not only by leaders of political parties, but also by members of civil society, unions and unions. However, he pointed out that the team has not yet been formed.

Superlane

«Freddy is a main actor in Barinas. No one can ignore or deny it, “he said, referring to the fact that Superlano was the one who was elected in the November 21 elections.

He pointed out that Superlano is not going to assume a government responsibility, but will participate.

«He is not going to have his role as a government because he is not going to participate in the regional government, but he is going to be with us by our side, collaborating and participating. But who is going to assume a government responsibility? No, he will not assume it. That is already sufficiently discussed, but it is going to contribute, “said Garrido.

It was during that comment that his statement acknowledging Maduro as president emerged.

He said that political aspirations should be set aside to “move Barinas and Venezuela forward.”

To forget the story of “my vote was stolen”

Garrido emphasized that his victory in Barinas shows that political objectives can be achieved peacefully through electoral participation.

“Here you have to forget that ‘they stole my vote.’ If you participate in the majority, there is no trap that is worth, “he said.

Who would you answer the phone to?

After all this, the journalist Vladimir Villegas asked Garrido what he would do if, in a hypothetical situation, Juan Guaidó and Nicolás Maduro called him by phone at the same time.

Who would you answer? Villegas asked.

And Garrido replied: «If I’m honest with you, I would answer Nicolás Maduro that he is the president, whether we like it or not. now, Juan Guaidó is the president in charge recognized by the countries of the world.

And continued. «You have to step on the ground. Reality tells me that Maduro is the current president. I cannot ignore it ».
