It happens like this: after the VMI visit, the profit of the car service jumped twice | Business

The company additionally declared that it had received 76 thousand in two years. EUR income, from which almost 12 thousand were calculated. EUR VAT. In addition, she clarified the income tax declarations and indicated that she had received 107 thousand. EUR profit, instead of 43 thousand. euros. The company also submitted a request to register as a VAT payer.

“VMI pays increased attention to the car repair sector. An analysis of the activities of 40 risky taxpayers is currently being carried out and, unfortunately, violations have been identified in all of them. The tendency is that some business representatives do not register all transactions in the accounting, which means that both sides of the transaction make assumptions for concealing income and expenses. Business owners declare lower income from activities than the wages paid to hired employees.

A rhetorical question arises, is the person who founded the auto repair business really not interested in making money and making a profit? When it is declared that the minimum wage is paid to qualified auto repair masters, we can assume that the risk of unaccounted income and unaccounted wages still remains”, says Sandra Mociškienė, who heads the car repair sector supervision project, representative of the Panevėžys AVMI, emphasizing that those working in the “shadow” car repairers also harm the entrepreneurs of the same sector who work transparently and compete fairly, of which there are a majority.

The tax administrator notes that monitoring is a soft control measure during which the monitored company or resident can correct their mistakes, but if the monitored taxpayer does not take into account the information and comments collected by the Tax Administration, then strict control measures may be applied to the company – tax investigation or tax inspection .

After the risk assessment – VMI notifications and the need to store order requests

“We have already selected risky taxpayers, about 2.5 thousand. residents who will receive VMI letters in the near future. In them, we identified the risks that we observe in the resident’s activities, for example, the income is lower than the minimum wage, they declare that they do not receive any profit at all or they work at a loss, the annual profit is less than 10 thousand. euros etc.

Recipients of these letters should evaluate the data provided in their declarations and correct them, otherwise we may take stricter control actions. Companies will also be selected according to risky characteristics”, – says S. Mociškienė and gives as a positive example the small association whose owner hastened to declare 32.3 thousand during the monitoring. EUR payments from the community and paid 5.5 thousand. euro taxes.

“We remind you that since May of this year, please, according to the provisions of which car repair operators must not only fill out order applications, but also keep them, as applications are equated to accounting documents. When controlling car repair operators, it will be necessary to submit order applications to VMI, and the relevant information contained in them will help to find out what parts or materials were used during the car repair, who bought them – the company or the vehicle manager, what repair work was performed, as well as the price of the work according to the established rates, etc. .

Based on these data, we will be able to assess the real situation and more accurately restore activity costs and income”, says S. Mociškienė, noting that order applications are also extremely important for car owners, so residents should demand from car repair companies that they fill out order applications with clearly specified parts/materials used and performed works and store them, as we store the receipt of the cash register after buying goods – this will help to insure yourself if the services were provided with poor quality.

VMI reminds that residents who notice or have information about illegal auto repair activities, unaccounted income or other tax violations can report it by phone +370 5 260 5060 or fill out an electronic form on the VMI website.
