Kamil Majchrzak was diagnosed with an illegal substance in December 2022. In June 2023, he was found guilty of this offense, although the International Tennis Integrity Agency accepted the player’s explanation that he was unaware of the measures taken. The tennis player was suspended for 13 months. His sentence finally ended at the end of December the previous year.

Majchrzak is climbing up the ATP rankings. Up 212 positions. Hurkacz unchanged

Majchrzak finished 2022 in 77th place in the ATP ranking. He started 2024 with no ranking points. When he finally appeared in the classification, he was only in 944th position. So the Pole started an arduous fight to return to the top hundred and so far he is doing great. He has already won three tournaments so far. First in Monastir, then in Hammamet, and last Saturday he defeated Marco Trungelliti (ATP 220) in the Kigali Challenger. The match was very even, but in the end Majchrzak managed to win 6:4, 6:4.

This triumph means a huge advancement in the ATP ranking for Majchrzak. In the classification published today, the tennis player advanced by as many as… 212 places. He is still a long way from the top hundred, as he is only in 440th position. This result means that he has already overtaken Filip Peliwo (455th ATP), Martyn Pawelski (516th ATP) and Olaf Pieczkowski (526th ATP). Just ahead of him is Kacper Żuk (433rd ATP). Majchrzak may get another promotion soon. Challenger II has started in Kigali and Majchrzak has already defeated two rivals in the qualifying round.

However, the position of Hubert Hurkacz has not changed, as he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai when he lost to Ugo Humbert 6:3, 4:7, 3:6. The best Polish tennis player still ranks 8th in the ATP ranking. Novak Djokovic remains the leader. There were no major changes at the top. Taylor Fritz dropped out of the top ten and dropped to 12th position. Casper Ruud advanced to 9th place, overtaking Alex de Minaur.
