During a heatwave, the best thing to do is to take shelter or jump into the water. In Haute-Vienne, the town of Isle has a municipal swimming pool, open only in the summer. The pool is on a human scale and has its fans. Immersion in the freshness.

It’s almost the dream swimming pool. There is a pool for champions and another for the less daring. Children have their own paddling pool and the pool is surrounded by a lawn for sunbathing. It’s aquatic bliss in the Isle countryside.

“There are many families who come to enjoy the super beautiful space that we have, the good mood, a calm and serene environment“, observes Cholé Faye, lifeguard.

With this summer heat, fresh water lovers are jostling at the gate in joy and good humor. “It’s going very well, the water is very good. Everything is fine. Plus, it’s been completely redone. It’s very pleasant,” answers a resident of the town who came to enjoy the water, alone.

In the small pool, a little further away, a mother refreshes her baby : “ÇIt felt good to be in the water. It’s nice and it’s absolutely calm.”

“I’m a regular. Every summer, I try to take advantage of the equipment. We’re lucky to have this equipment available. So we try to come quite regularly. It’s an outdoor pool, in the middle of the park, next to the schools, it’s a pleasant setting,” comments a resident, wearing sunglasses, leaning on the edge of the pool.

In the water, a mother and her daughter swim a few lengths: “We have a pool, but it’s not deep enough to swim. Here, we can swim and it feels good with this temperature. We will stay for an hour and a half, two hours.

The atmosphere is therefore good. However, some safety rules are in place, common sense rules: “You have to remember to hydrate yourself well, put on sunscreen because you’re in full sun. Above all, remember to wet your neck and head well before getting into the water to avoid any risk of hydrocution that you can often get in the summer,” recalls Hugo Lagarde, head of the basin.

The Isle municipal swimming pool is open every dayonly in summer, until September 1st.
