The official premiere of this compact 5-door took place in early 2023. The car was shown in India. It was there that they already set up its production, and also announced the start of accepting orders. However, in the future, the budget cross-coupe, which claims to be the cheapest in the world, will go to conquer other markets in developing countries. It is possible that Russia will also be included in this list in the future.
We are talking regarding the Suzuki Fronx. The car has the status of “premium” by local standards and is sold in the Nexa dealer network specially organized for it.
The coupe-like “SUV” is an elevated version of the Baleno hatchback, popular in India, repeating the passenger car in some details, but not in all. Especially for him, they developed original body panels, and also installed a body kit made of unpainted plastic.
Fronx optics are implemented in a newfangled format with separate blocks of headlights and LED daytime running lights, and the taillights are made in the form of a single die.
The length of the cross-coupe is 3995 mm, width – 1765 mm, height – 1550 mm. Thus, the car is slightly larger than the original Baleno. However, the distance between its axles is comparable to a hatchback and is equal to 2520 mm.
A 9-inch touch screen is installed inside the Japanese coupe-shaped SUV, as well as a steering wheel, dashboard and center console, which repeats the design of these details in the recently revived Suzuki Grand Vitara crossover.
Powers the Suzuki Fronx with two petrolless motor options. The first has a capacity of 90 horsepower and is aspirated, while the second is a “turbo engine” for 100 “forces”. As a transmission, you can choose both a 5-speed manual transmission, and a “robot” or even a classic “automatic”.
The cross-coupe costs from 746 to 927 thousand Indian rupees, which, when converted to Russian currency, is comparable to 745-920 thousand rubles.
