Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, while addressing a seminar on dealing with the difficulties faced in the implementation of court decisions in Islamabad, said that he saw that the decision of 2014 has now been implemented.
He said that he will raise the issue of implementation of court decisions in the Judges Committee.
He said that Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is my friend and he is the Chief Justice of Pakistan. I am the most senior judge. Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is healthy and energetic. May Allah bless him, I am not acting Chief Justice. I am the most senior judge.
He said, ‘It is not that the decisions of the Supreme Court are not followed. The Supreme Court derives its authority from the Constitution. It is our responsibility to maintain a balance. If the decisions are not implemented, the constitution will be violated. If the Supreme Court decides, it will be implemented.
He further said that ‘You introduced me a bit more, I am a senior judge. The authority of the Supreme Court is derived from the Constitution and not from anywhere else.
